Clinical Pilates

Pilates consists of specific dynamic exercises developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. He developed his method through his own experiments as well as his experience of yoga and many other physical disciplines.

Pilates builds up muscle strength, endurance, coordination, balance and flexibility. It focuses on spinal and pelvic alignment, while using specific breathing techniques. One of its aims is to develop core stability, which in my opinion could be described as core strength.

Pilates’ system consists of various levels that can be adjusted to the level of the student/ client. Modified clinical Pilates is used for rehabilitation and retraining of the whole body as well as generating the expected benefits for traditional Pilates.
